Wild Food, Seasonal Living, and Recipes Inspired by Nature

Wild Food Stories Logo.png

Wild Food Stories is where my passion for foraging, wild food, and seasonal living comes together. Through stories, events, practical advice, and seasonal recipes, I share knowledge and inspiration to help you connect with nature's harvest throughout the year.

Fir Needle Tea

Fir needles make for a delicious, aromatic tea. Their bright citrus-pine notes are reminiscent of orange, clementine, and even grapefruit.

Hawthorn Ketchup

A ketchup made from dark red hawthorn berries is one of my family’s favourite hedgerow preserves, so I make this recipe every year without fail.

Writing

I am a wild food writer and researcher exploring how foraging deepens our connection to nature, supports wellbeing, and fosters stewardship. Through my writing I share seasonal recipes, discuss sustainable foraging and explore how foraging can be part of a more seasonal and intentional way of life.

About

I am a food writer, forager and social scientist exploring the seasonal richness of the wild Scottish larder. Through recipes, storytelling and research, my work connects the kitchen to the landscape and aims to foster deeper relationships between people and the natural world.

“Leanne is an absolute fountain of knowledge when it comes to foraging! Her courses are brilliant, fun, fascinating and packed with so much information. As a fellow mushroom lover, I’m always amazed by just how much she knows, right down to all the Latin names! Her passion for the natural world is infectious, and you come away seeing what’s growing around you in a completely new way. I couldn’t recommend her courses enough.”
