Booking and payment:
Your booking on a course will only be secured once you have paid for the course on the Events page of my website. If you are a voucher holder, please contact me for a discount code to apply during the booking process. Places are strictly limited and will be sold on a first come first served basis, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Cancellation:
Those cancelling up to a month prior to the course date will be issued a voucher for an alternative course. For those cancelling with less than one month's notice, a voucher will only be issued if the place can be filled, otherwise the course fee is non-refundable. In the unlikely event that I have to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances, ticket holders will be offered the choice of a refund or voucher for another course. Please note these terms also apply to bookings for private events (except that a full refund will be offered instead of a voucher and only if cancellation occurs more than one month from the event date, unless the booking space can be filled).
Gift vouchers:
Gift voucher holders must use their vouchers within 2 years of purchase. After this, I cannot be held responsible for the unclaimed voucher and no refund or replacement will be issued. No refunds will be offered to those unable to attend any of the scheduled courses over the 2-year period (it is your responsibility to keep an eye on course dates over the 2-year period that your voucher is valid). If you book onto a cheaper workshop than the value of your course, no change will be given.
Covid-19:
Those who are under instruction to isolate for reasons relating to Covid-19 will be offered a voucher for a place on an alternative course, as long as they give notice the day before the event at the very latest. Please do not attend the course if you are supposed to be isolating, or are showing any symptoms.
Health and safety:
By booking onto a place you agree to follow my guidance on the walk, including in terms of the safe identification of plants. You agree to never consume (or take home for consumption) a plant or fungus which has not been identified by me as a safe edible species. You also agree to follow all current Covid-19 guidance.
Weather:
Foraging is an all-weather activity. Courses will run in all weather unless there is a severe weather warning in place via the Met Office. Refunds or vouchers will not be issued to those choosing not to attend because of unpleasant weather conditions.
Clothes and equipment:
Please come along to the course wearing appropriate clothing according to the weather conditions. In summer please consider if you might need sunscreen or insect repellent. Wear strong, waterproof shoes or boots.
Children:
Children are welcome to come along, as long as they are in possession of a full price ticket for the event. I have taken this decision because places on my courses are limited and all participants require the same level of input from me, regardless of their age. Babes in arms are free of charge.
Dogs:
Please contact me to discuss, if you wish to bring your dog along.
Dietary requirements:
Tasters are provided on some courses. Please let me know at least 5 days in advance if you have any serious allergies, or dietary requirements. I do not commit to providing tasters to all people, regardless of dietary requirements but in some cases I am able to provide alternatives.
What we will find:
I am unable to guarantee specific species will be found on the walk - this is down to many factors including time of year, weather and other external conditions, and whether other foragers have got there first! This is especially true of mushrooms, so to avoid disappointment I do not run solely mushroom walks. Instead in mushroom season I run "Plants and Fungi" walks.
