Join me, Leanne Townsend of Wild Food Stories on an immersive mushroom foraging adventure. Delve into the culinary delights of the natural world, and learn how to identify a diverse range of wild plants and fungi growing in Scotland's wild places. On this gentle walk around the Alford countryside, you will expand your knowledge of foraging, and learn how to transform wild ingredients into nutritious and delicious dishes and preserves. Experience first hand how foraging promotes relaxation, wellbeing and strengthens your connection with nature. Explore the medicinal properties of mushrooms, and the world of plant and mushroom folklore. Following the forage we will cook up our finds in a delicious rustic wild lunch. Suitable for all ages (babes in arms free). Please wear sensible footwear and weather appropriate clothing; consider bringing a basket or canvas bag for foraging, a camera (or camera phone), insect repellent, sunscreen and a notebook if you wish to take notes on the walk.
