About the event

Join Leanne Townsend of Wild Food Stories on a summer foraging walk in Seaton Park, Aberdeen. Learn how to safely identify a diverse range of wild plants growing on your doorstep. On this gentle walk around the park, you will learn  the main principles of foraging, including safety, sustainability and ethics. Add a number of seasonal wild edibles to your repertoire and learn about the numerous ways that wild food can be incorporated into your diet and prepared in nutritious and delicious recipes. We will finish the walk with a wild picnic which will introduce you to some wild food and drink recipes and methods of preserving your harvests. Children are welcome when accompanied by adults - under 12s are free of charge. Please wear sensible footwear and weather appropriate clothing; consider brining a basket or canvas bag for foraging, a camera (or camera phone), and a notebook if you wish to take notes on the walk.
